I - A-Z Cross Stitch Style

I is for Ivysaur and IT Genius

Day 9 of the A to Z challenge is I.  I'm cross stitching two of my alphabet patterns for the challenge - a Pokemon one and a Supernatural one.  Both patterns (plus may others) are available from my Etsy store.

The Pokemon Alphabet
I is for Ivysaur, Bulbasaur's first evolution.  Unlike the other starter Pokemon (where the third evolution was used) I'm stitching the middle evolution - mostly because it starts with I!  As a plant-based Pokemon, Ivysaur was very useful against water-type (which is the first gym) so a good one to start with... although it wasn't much good once you started reaching fire/lightning Pokemon.

The Supernatural Alphabet
I'm slightly cheating here, with I standing for the IT Genius, Ash.  This isn't going to be the last one I cheat with either.  Ash, with his sleeveless plaid shirts and 80s mullet, didn't look like much of a character when he was first introduced, however it wasn't long before his computer knowledge was helping save the world... although it did for him in the end.  This show is a bit like Game of Thrones - everyone dies (including the lead characters) - just not everyone stays dead.  Ash's appearance in the levels/rooms/stages of heaven was brilliant.

H - A-Z Cross Stitch Style

H is for Haunter and Jo Harvelle

Today in the A-Z Challenge is H.  I'm cross stitching two of my alphabet patterns for the challenge - a Pokemon one and a Supernatural one.  Both patterns (plus may others) are available from my Etsy store.

The Pokemon Alphabet
H is for Haunter, the ghost Pokemon.  I love his purple highlights.  I was never a fan of the ghost Pokemon really when I played so really don't have much to say about him.  Should have spoken to my brother and sister-in-law before writing this post! :)

The Supernatural Alphabet

H is for Jo Harvelle, Ellen's daughter (star of the 'E' post).  Jo had a lot of character and spunk - she knew her mind and did her own thing, right up to the end.  Again, she was a victim to the writers' habit of killing off their strong female characters, which was very sad and disappointing, as she was a character I enjoyed watching.

Happy stitching,

G - A-Z Cross Stitch Style

G is for Geodude and Gabriel

Time for G in the A-Z Challenge.  I'm cross stitching two of my alphabet patterns for the challenge - a Pokemon one and a Supernatural one.  Both patterns (plus may others) are available from my Etsy store.
The Pokemon Alphabet
G is for Geodude, the rock pokemon, and usually the first rock Pokemon I would catch when playing the original game.  I love the way his evolutions all look like karate fighters.  Rock solid.  I've been binge-watching Full House this week so I'm getting caught on the "dude" part of his name, hearing Michelle say "No problems, Dude" in my head.

The Supernatural Alphabet
G is for Gabriel the Trickster.  I loved his character - the way he was always able to get the better of the Winchester brothers, no matter what they tried.  I'm still not sure what I think about the reveal that he was actually an angel, although it did explain why he always won.

Over at Travel Like A Geek I am working my way through an A-Z of the filming locations used in the Harry Potter series.  G is for Gloucester Cathedral.

Happy Stitching,

F - A-Z Cross Stitch Style

F is for Farfetch'd and the Four Horsemen

We're up to E in the A-Z Challenge.  I'm cross stitching two of my alphabet patterns for the challenge - a Pokemon one and a Supernatural one.  Both patterns (plus may others) are available from my Etsy store.

The Pokemon Alphabet
F is for Farfetch'd, the Pokemon with an apostrophe in its name.  He carries a leek in his mouth, so does that make him a Welsh Pokemon?

The Supernatural Pokemon
F is for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.  The Four Horsemen were called by the approaching apocalypse in season 5 prior to Lucifer's release.  In order (from left to right) they are War, Pestilence, Famine and Death.  I liked Famine's incarnation in the show - wheelchair and oxygen tank and everything.  Death is the only one to have continued to reappear throughout the series.  They were rather time consuming to stitch, taking more than a day!

E - A-Z Cross Stitch Style

E is for Eevee and Ellen

It's Day E of the A-Z Challenge.  I'm cross stitching two of my alphabet patterns for the challenge - a Pokemon one and a Supernatural one.  Both patterns (plus may others) are available from my Etsy store.

The Pokemon Alphabet
E is for Eevee, my favourite pokemon.  My cat is even named after her.  I love Eevee because she was the first Pokemon in the game to have a choice of evolutions - depending on what stone you gave her.  It did mean you had to trade if you wanted all three types in the original game - Eevee was a pokemon you were given, not one you could catch.  She's just so cute!

The Supernatural Alphabet
E is for Ellen Harvelle - the owner of the bar/tavern that Hunters like to visit.  Along with her daughter Jo, she was the first strong, recurring female character in the series.  Not really a mother-figure for the Winchester brothers - more a voice of reason and reality.  I've already mentioned her episode with Bobby in the alternate reality (interesting concept - what would have happened if Titanic hadn't sunk?).  Her exit from the show was one of the most powerful and gut wrenching moments in the series too.

Over at Travel Like A Geek I am working my way through an A-Z of the filming locations used in the Harry Potter series.  E is for Edinburgh.

Happy Stitching!
