B - A-Z Cross Stitch style

B is for Blastoise and Bobby Singer

Day 2 of the A-Z Challenge, which is being hosted here if you want to check out some of the amazing blogs people are writing this month.  I'm cross stitching two of my alphabet patterns for the challenge.  All of my patterns are available here if you want to check them out (or purchase your own to stitch-along!)

On with my progress:
Pokémon Alphabet
B is for Blastoise, the third evolution of Squirtle, one of the Pokémon you can choose at the beginning of the original game.  Blastoise is such a brute of a Pokémon, particularly when you compare him to sweet, chubby little Squirtle but I do love that it looks like he stores his water in cannons on his back.  I tended to choose Charmander when I played, so was never as familiar with Blastoise's skills.  Each to their own.

Supernatural Alphabet
B is also for Bobby Singer, the surrogate father and mentor to the Winchester brothers.  I loved Bobby - his dry wit, intelligence, maturity, and down-to-earth manner made him such a refreshing change from the (occasionally) bickering brothers.  Not that he didn't have demons of his own, and not that he always made the right/sensible choices!  My favourite episode of his has to be the one set in an alternate universe when he was married to Ellen (more on her later).

Over at Travel Like A Geek I am working my way through an A-Z of the filming locations used in the Harry Potter series.

I'm beginning to get a bit freaked out by the challenge I've set myself - writing two blogs as well as trying to finish two cross stitches.  I was hoping to be a lot more ahead of where I am now - blog posts scheduled and a lot more pre-stitching done.  However, what with moving a couple of weeks ago, not having internet and then going home to visit my parents for Easter, I haven't had as much free time as I was anticipating.  Thank goodness I've got next week off work so I can catch up and then have more time to visit everyone else's blogs.  Wish me luck!

Happy Stitching

Ros

  2. Bobby was one of the characters that carried that show. :)
I hear it is a big thing among Pokémon fans to talk about what your starter pokémon is...?

  7. Great idea for an A to Z theme, although I can imagine that getting the stitching done AND having a second blog in the Challenge makes for quite a bit of stress. :-)

  9. Although I haven't played Pokémon, I remember there being a big craze Pokémon trading cards when I was growing up. I'm more of a Super Mario Bros. kind of gal. You're really good at stitching and it's nice to learn more about Blastoise. Having his own supply of water is about as cool as they come :)

  10. My son loves Pokemon and still watches it on Netflix quite often. Good luck on the challenge! We're doing “I’ve Got The Music In Me” this year on The Road We’ve Shared. – looking at how important music is in the Down syndrome community. I hope you’ll stop by and see/hear! http://theroadweveshared.com/category/a-to-z-blogging-challenge-2016
